> Pick up a pangolin
Day 119 - Wed 27 Jan - 11,668km, Supe, Cameroon
I was on the verge of buying a live pangolin today for £8 to rescue it from the pot, but the practicalities of taking it on the bike and the moral dilemma of stimulating the bush meat trade saw me back out. Again there was plenty of bush meat on sale reflecting the richness of the beautiful mountainous rainforest I was riding through. Thought it may have been easy on the eye, it certainly wasn’t on my pigeon stick legs and at times the rutted, undulating track took me to breaking point. Thankfully conditions have improved somewhat and I’m on course to meet my old man tomorrow and most excitingly receive a shipment of brownies and malt loaf, provided no hungry leopards pay my jungle camping spot a visit in the night that is!
