> Back on the road south
Day 85, 8570 km, Kombissiri, Burkina Faso
Arriving in Ouaga at 4 am yesterday, Helen’s first introduction to African riding was to hitch a late night bumpy ride through the city on Bertha. A day on and her bike ( the Mongoose) and bags also arrived and we finally got to hit the road south this afternoon along with countless mopeds hung like Christmas trees with live chickens. It suggests there are enough Christians around to ensure that numerous chooks will be on the dinner table tomorrow. Our feast looks like consisting of cous cous and Christmas malt loaf hopefully camped out in a National Park. Lets hope the local cockerel escapes the pot so that we can make an early start. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!!

HoHoe Ho
I found Ho on the map but not HoHoe! Rob, have you got a proposed route, rough deadlines etc or is it all seat of the pants as the road unfolds in front of you? Are there deadlines - or just Rustenburg before kick-off! I want to be able to relax when you are ahead of schedule and worry when you are behind! Go well. Clem and Sue
Keep up the Christmas Spirit...
Hi Rob (& Helen!), just looking at the next chunk of Africa you have in store. We thought that at least if you head down the eastern side of Lake Volta, you'll retain some Christmas spirit by passing thru the towns of HoHoe & Ho!! All the best from sunny, inviting South Africa.
