Day 85, 8570 km, Kombissiri, Burkina Faso

Arriving in Ouaga at 4 am yesterday, Helen’s first introduction to African riding was to hitch a late night bumpy ride through the city on Bertha. A day on and her bike ( the Mongoose) and bags also arrived and we finally got to hit the road south this afternoon along with countless mopeds hung like Christmas trees with live chickens. It suggests there are enough Christians around to ensure that numerous chooks will be on the dinner table tomorrow. Our feast looks like consisting of cous cous and Christmas malt loaf hopefully camped out in a National Park. Lets hope the local cockerel escapes the pot so that we can make an early start.
