> Malt loaf magic
Day 200 - Sun 18th April, 16888km, Rupeho, Namibia
Far from being one big desert, the northern area of Namibia which I'm cycling through is very green at this time of year with thick bush right up to the roadside, which makes any hopes of seeing wildlife very slim. Following a restless night suffering from stomach cramps after overdosing on lumps of cow meat, I totally burnt out on the empty and endless dirt road this morning and had to resort to an emergency malt loaf to rescue the day. Cycling through soft and wet sand plus a torrential storm it was a physically exhausting day but I've landed on my feet this evening staying with some subsistence farmers. Not only have I been given a beautiful hut to sleep in but I've also been treated to beef, pap (pounded maize) and vegetables in exchange for some chicken impressions, a colouring book, soup and of course another malf loaf, which incidentally went down so well I rather upsettingly didn't get any!

First of all Rob - you are doing an amazing thing - I am left with complete admiration for you and they say British Patriotism is dead!! Long live the British!
You made me laugh out loud with malt loaf story - they have the same effect on my son!
Good luck for the remainder of the journey - I will listen out for the cheers from you when England score!
