> Cummulative fatigue
Day 228 - Sun 16 May ~ 19370km, Escourt, South Africa
After a damp restless night in my extremly pungent 1 man tent I woke this morning with a worrying amount of stiffness in my legs given the 18km rocky mountainous dirt trail I had to start the day. Saying goodbye to a great bunch of runners as they cruised past in their 4x4's it really tested my resolve to stick too my never ending commitment to Bertha!
Peaking my Comrades training so close to the race is certainly a high risk strategy and having run two marathons and cycled over 600km in a week fatigue really caught up with my legs today making it an unpleasant hilly struggle to cover the 100km to Escourt where fellow Mnweni athlete Richard and is Wife Isabel had kindly offered to put me up. It was well worth it though as I arrived in time to see England win the first of two world cups this summer in the 2020 cricket!
