Day 189 – Weds 7 April - 15,642km, River Cuambo, Angola
The last couple of days have illustrated exactly why Angola has a reputation as an unexplored tourist gem as we have progressed into the beautiful green foothills of the Serra Combonda. Unbelievably we also discovered we aren’t the only cycle tourers enjoying the scenery when we met the support vehicle of a British solo rider on her way from Dakar to Somali! With a cameraman, support crew, extensive sponsorship and most impressive of all, a 30 day Angolan visa, it is fair to say her trip is somewhat better planned than mine, although without malt loaf on her side I can only think she is incredibly brave or ridiculously foolhardy. Hopefully however, once Helen has left, I’ll be able to catch them up and introduce her to my fruity secret of success. For now though we’re enjoying a last night camping under the stars before spending a couple of nights in relative luxury at Lobito.

Dont Push It (Odds 27/1)
Rob the Grand National is on this weekend...I've placed some bets in your honour as I'm sure your ladbrokes account is missing you this year. I also got the favourite in the sweepstake at work:)! If i win, I promise I'll spend it all on moat loaf and ship it out to you! Especially the soreen small snack size moat loaf thats already buttered-which I have only just discovered (you probably knew this already)! Sorry I have been lame on the sports/news text front-english teams have been rubbish this year anyway!!
Its going to be 18 degrees today-summer is finally here, hopefully the weather will keep for Helens return, have a great time in Lobito guys.
FYI: You have approx. 50 days left till the Comarades! No pressure :-p
