Day 129 - Sat 6 Feb - 12,054km, Pouma, Cameroon
While I am undoubtedly following in the tyre marks of countless eccentric British adventurers, I'm pretty confident that Leo will be pioneering unchartered territory for Brazil despite the concern of friends and family back home who think he's lost the plot. Sleep deprived and jet lagged the poor guy had to get up early this morning and endure a long day in the sun so we can make Yaounde by Sunday night, that didn't however stop him from bringing some Brazilian flair to proceedings in the form of a Roberto Carlos shirt. Exhausted at the end of day we had just set up tent in a church yard and finished round one of dinner, when a French saviour by the name of Betrand appeared out of the gloom offering us beer, dinner and a bed for the night. I was so moved by him and his wife's hospitality that I even sacrificed a malt loaf for dessert! Unfortunately I also had to bid my old man farewell today, his company, if not his snoring, will be missed and I am extremely grateful for his visit and support from the UK.
