> Things are hotting up
Day 31 - 3153km Marrakech, Morocco. I drank over 6lt today with temperatures soaring into the upper 30`s and a few unexpected hills making it a surprisingly tough one in the saddle. Still I finished in good time and have since been checking out the sights of Marrakech - perhaps a few less than I should have done after spending close to 45min trying to get a rubber ring suspended from a stick over a coke bottle. Having paid 50p for the pleasure of trying I`ve never wanted a coke so badly, especially as the owners of the game were clearly fleecing every tourist in sight. Anyway after employing a multitude of techniques I eventually won myself a coke as warm as the Moroccan day had been. I then promptly gave it to a group of kids, what a mistake that was! Having shown a sign of compassionate weakness I was hounded out of the market and subjected to an unsavoury send off when I didn`t produce any further gifts. The whole experience left an unpleasant taste in my mouth, one I`d more readily associate with a pepsi encounter.
Anyway I'm off to get some kip as I'm tired after sharing my tent with a mouse last night and having to leave early to evade a farmer this morning. Combine this with a day of sunscreen and sweat in the eyes and I'm looking like I've just emerged from a long session in a hash den. It's therefore no surprise that every man and his monkey are offering me drugs!
