> Follow the painted lady !
Day 29 - Rabat. It appears that I have company on the road southwards in the form of Painted Lady Butterflies as they return to the Atlas mountains following a quite incredible 9 month migration! Having observed these butterflies as they travelled northwards in record numbers through the UK last spring (after their departure from the Morocco in February), and again as they returned southwards before I left home, I am now fortunate enough to witness the final leg of their homeward journey, after thousands of kms and a number of generations. I saw them while waiting in Tarifa, Spain and again here in Morocco. And I thought my journey was tough! I will be back on the trail of the Painted Lady tomorrow having successfully acquired my Mauritanian visa.
