> Goodbye bureaucracy, hello pies
Day 198 - Fri 16th April, 16602km, Eenhana, Namibia
After all the visa delays and stress I cruised straight through the border to Namibia today on a visa that expired 25 days ago without so much as the raising of an eyebrow. Bertha certainly did her bit by attracting a camera phone wielding crowd that helped distract the immigration official at the vital time. Indeed Bertha must be one of the most photographed ladies in Angola thanks to her unique, flag adorned appearance, I just hope no one takes a permenent fancy to her. One step closer to my final destination I was hugely excited and my wallet relieved at arriving in Namibia. Within no time I was totally lost and overwhelmed in the vast selection of food at the nearest supermarket, until the pie counter provided a moment of clarity. Opting for a jumbo sausage roll street habits die hard and I followered it down with some surprisingly meaty and flavoursome fried caterpillars from the roadside mamma outside. Just when I thought the day couldn't get any better I caught highlights of Spurs' beautiful victory over Arsenal in an air conditioned bank. To top off the a satisfying day I am now sleeping in a smarth youth centre for peanuts and have found the time to go for a 20min run as well as shampoo and condition my increasingly ginger beard!
