Day 115 – Sat 23 Jan ~ 11,376 km, Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary, Nigeria
There is no blog from Rob today as he is in the remote Nigeria/Cameroon border area. Do not expect further blogs for several days. He is fortunate to be visiting the isolated Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary following an introduction to Peter Jenkins and Liza Gadsby co-founders of Pandrillus, an organisation whose prime mission is to save the highly endangered drill monkey from extinction. Pandrillus is also concerned with protecting other primates and wildlife which share the drill habitat, including the Nigerian chimpanzee and the most endangered gorilla sub-species, the Cross River gorilla. Do check out the Pandrillus website www.pandrillus.org and read about their work in trying to save the drill monkey and Nigerian & Cameroon chimpanzees and gorillas and view the stunning scenery of Afi. There are also some wonderful pictures of the magnificent drill monkeys.
